Many UK universities accept Nigerian students with strong WAEC/WASSCE results — typically five credits including English Language and Mathematics — for direct undergraduate entry. This depends on the university and course: less selective courses and universities with established Nigerian admissions experience admit WAEC holders directly. More competitive universities and courses (medicine, law, top Russell Group) usually require a foundation year. Your path from Abuja to a UK university

Step 1 — Free assessment and university shortlist
We assess your WAEC, NECO or degree results, your subject preferences, budget and target career. We identify the right UK universities and — where needed — the right foundation or pathway programme. This initial consultation is completely free.
Step 2 — IELTS for UKVI preparation
UK universities and the UK Student visa both require IELTS for UKVI — not standard IELTS Academic. Galaxy UniPrep runs dedicated IELTS for UKVI preparation at our Kado, Abuja centre targeting scores of 6.0 to 7.5 depending on your chosen university and course. We do not move to application until your score meets the requirement.
Step 3 — UCAS or direct application
For undergraduate entry, most UK applications go through UCAS. Galaxy UniPrep manages the full UCAS process — university selection, personal statement, references and document preparation. For postgraduate and some direct-entry courses, we submit direct applications on your behalf and manage communication with the university until you receive your offer.
Step 4 — UK Student visa
Once you have your conditional or unconditional offer and your CAS letter from the university, we guide you through the UK Student visa application. This includes financial documentation (proof of maintenance funds — £1,529/month for London, £1,171/month outside), biometrics appointment booking, and compliance with current Home Office regulations. What IELTS score do I need to study in the UK?
