How does the UFP help Nigerian students enter UK universities?
The UFP replaces the traditional A-level route. Instead of spending two years on A-levels and then applying through UCAS, Nigerian students complete one year of the UFP — either in Abuja or London — and receive a direct conditional offer from partner universities. No separate UCAS application is required for most partner institutions.
The Abuja campus route is particularly practical: students complete the full foundation year in Nigeria, secure their university offer, then apply for a UK student visa only after — reducing both cost and visa risk at the critical decision stage.
What do Nigerian students need to enrol in the UFP?
The minimum English requirement is IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Students who do not yet meet this threshold can first complete Galaxy’s IELTS preparation course — IELTS prep is integrated into the UFP Abuja curriculum as standard.
For academic background, a minimum of five WAEC or NECO credits — including English Language and Mathematics — is the standard entry requirement. Students with other qualifications are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Book a free consultation to confirm your eligibility.
